Memories of a Broken Heart

June 2019

Sometimes people fall apart without a real reason, without a proper goodbye. Sometimes they make choices they end to regret at their and other's expense, but what if sometimes fate plays a twisted game and reunites lost souls?
What if this time they can get their happy ending?

Reviews & Feedback

from Inkitt & Wattpad

Here is a collection of some of the reviews and the comments I received in the past years on my books.

This book was absolutely breathtaking from the very start. It’s so hard to find just about anything that could be able to describe what depression and mourning feels like but this book described it perfectly. Even though the ending made me sob my eyes out for a good fifteen minutes I loved how it was very different from other books like this one that I’ve read. I’m really glad that the author made this story (especially the ending) realistic on how life can turn out when you go through something like Oceania did. This book gave me so many bittersweet emotions and I’m really glad that I’ve read this story and how it was filled with melancholy and beauty all at the same time.❤️

I loved everything in this book. I teared up when Oceanea promised her brother they would never be part... I loved Cole... Well... I also sort of hated him. The girl finally finds one good thing and he just goes away. The ending (I won't spoil it) made me scream into my pillow. Ugh! I have a love-hate relationship with this book. I would recommend this to anyone like, who likes that terrible feeling like a fist squeezing around [their] heart, and that overwhelming hope for a happy ending. I'm going to read it again. Now that I know exactly what I'm for I'd like to start over. I'm mad about the brother, and I'm going to be thinking about that more than I should. I'm angry at him. Haha. Thank you for a wonderfully captivating story. I loved every aspect.

I think it's safe to say that I'm an emotional wreck after this chapter. I don't even know what to think, other than you've crafted a very emotional story about a girl trying to rise above torment and darkness. It wasn't the ending I expected, nor perhaps what I might have wanted, but it's only a story you could have told and I don't think I mentioned in previous chapters, but you have a great eye for bringing vivid imagery to a scene. That description of the diary opening to end this story was fantastic and gives the impression that Oceania is never truly gone to those who will always remember her. Really great work, well done on this story. :)

'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. ~Alfred Lord Tennyson
I like the quotation at the start of each chapter. Two broken souls tried to heal each other’s brokenness—Oceania and Cole but the hands of fate gave them a tragic end. While the survivors—Cole and Blake started to walk down on a painful journey of losing and missing Oceania. Full of deep emotions coming from a truly broken soul. I guess many can relate to the story.

It was a very intriguing read that I enjoyed. The ending was a brilliant and unexpected plot twist which I applaud you for, @SOSimons I will check out your other works soon.

It takes a lot to make me cry while reading something. I've been through too much to cry. But if you did it, you are one of 10 authors who have successfully made me cry and your book is amazing.

As in every SOSimons book, the reader is amazed by her capacity to let the writing style and the character currently described fuse together as it was a single identity: when the female characters of this book are addressed, the tone becomes soft, elegant and somewhat sweet, while as soon the male character comes in, words start to become strong and sure, as to describe the direction in which the situation is turning thanks to him

I didn't even realize how I much I needed it before I actually read all those. I relate to more than half of the poems and quotes and those are some harsh truths I won't ever be able to erase from my mind. I definitely love the creativity and author, thank you so much for writing something that would help people like me. It is definitely worth the read and I am hoping to read more from you. You make everything so vivid for your readers and the pain you explain, I don't know how would it be for people who haven't actually explained it but since I have - these words got imprinted on my mind. Love your work. Keep writing.

These poems differ from the usual style of SOSimon’s books but this doesn’t devalue her work, on the contrary. These short poems hit your heart and soul because of the spoken truths and the sharp words used. Reading this will have the same effect on the reader as a breath of cold air: on one hand it shocks you but on the other it will refresh you and clear your mind
